Platform: List view filter settings

In contrast to the standard filtering of the items of the view list, the Platform settings allow you to set flexible filtering conditions using the condition editor, as well as add a list of settings for filtering the items.

 

On the list options page, select «Platform: Filter Web-Part Settings». The following options are available on the settings page:

  • List view. Allows you to set individual filtering settings for each list view.
  • Copy options and conditions. Allows you to copy parameters and conditions to selected views.
  • Enable/Disable Filtering Web-Part. Defines enable/disable settings in the view. The default value of the options is «Disable». In this case, the specified settings will not be applied.
  • Display collapsed filtering Web-Part. Allows the minimized filtering web-part to be displayed for the selected view. By default, the filtering web-part is deployed.
  • Filter mode. Defines the mode of applying filtering by parameters:
  • Always filter. This mode provides for the use of filtering for all parameters, including unfilled. The specified parameters values ​​will be saved and applied when you reopen the view.
  • Do not filter on opening. If the view has filled-in filtering parameters, they will not be taken into account when opening the view.
  • Do not filter if parameters values ​​are not set. This mode provides filtering only by filled parameters. The specified parameters values ​​will be saved and applied when you reopen the view.

  •  

    • Parameters. Defines a list and order of filtering parameters in a list view. To add a new parameter, click «Edit». In the form that opens, click «Add option». Select a parameter type, specify a name and specify additional settings. Types of parameters:
  • Date Parameter. Date selection parameter is available.
  • Numeric parameter. Numeric value entry is available in the parameter.
  • Parameter «User or group». The parameter allows you to select all users of the site and SharePoint groups.
  • Item of the organizational structure. In the parameter, the choice of employees, roles, companies and departments from the organizational structure is available.
  • Parameter «Period». The parameter allows you to select a time period from the start date to the end date inclusive.
  • Text parameter. The parameter is available to enter a text value.
  • Parameter «Lookup». In the parameter, a value is available from the target list of the lookup field.
  • If the first or second filtering mode is selected to represent the list, then in the block for setting filtering conditions by parameters for each parameter, it is necessary to add a condition for checking it for empty.

     

     

    Advanced parameter settings:

  • Description. Allows you to specify the purpose of the parameter.
  • Default period. Allows you to set the default period for the type parameter «Period»:
    — in a day;
    — in a week;
    — in a month;
    — in a quarter;
    — in a half a year;
    — in a year.
  • Field lookup. Allows you to specify a type field «Lookup» or «Platform: Lookup», values from the target list of which will be available for selection in the parameter.
  • Number of input lines. Allows you to set the number of lines for entering a value in the parameter.
  • Input field width. Allows you to adjust the width of the parameter.
  • Date and time. If the value of this parameter is equal to «Yes», then in the filtering parameter you will be able to specify the time.
  • Integer. Allows you to specify only integers in the parameter.
  • Allow selection. Allows you to limit the selection of data in the type parameter «Items the organizational structure»:
    — Employees. Allows you to select in the parameter employees from the organizational structure.
    — Departments. Allows you to select in the parameter departments from the organizational structure in the parameter.
    — Companies. Allows you to select in the parameter companies from the organizational structure.
    — Roles. Allows you to select in the parameter roles from the organizational structure.
  • Max text size. Allows you to set the maximum text size for input to the parameter.
  •  

    • Choose a layout option. Allows you to select the option to display parameters in the view:

     

  • In one columns;
  • In two columns;
  • In one line.
  •  

    • Condition. Allows you to set filtering conditions for items in the view by parameters.
    • Required condition. Allows you to set the necessary conditions for filtering items in the view.

    The view with the configured filtering web-part is shown in the figure:


     

    If the first or second filtering mode is selected to represent the list, then in the block for setting filtering conditions by parameters for each parameter, it is necessary to add a condition for checking it for empty.
    If you need to apply the same filtering settings for all list views, you must use the button «Apply to all views».
