Scanning and saving attachments of documents

This functionality allows to start scanning documents from the document form and save the scanned files in the “Platform: Details List” type field.

 

Install a license containing the «Scanning» component to display the scan start button in the field of the table part of the document attachments.
Go to the scan enablement page:

 

This transition is carried out through the «Settings», shortcut menu available in the upper right corner of the System:

 

The button to start scanning will appear in the field of the Details List of the attachments of the document after enabling the scan feature:

 

The application «Platform.Client» should be launched on client machines from which documents will be scanned.

Limitations for displaying a scan button:

  • Supported for OS Windows only;
  • Supported only in the field of Details Lists related to Platform document libraries.

Restrictions for supported scanners:

  • Supported only scanners that work with the WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) driver;
  • TWAIN drivers are not supported.
